Acceptance

Goddess grant me the wisdom to accept what I cannot change…” I have found this prayer to be very challenging in my own life.

Having five planets in fire with three of them being in Leo, acceptance has not always come easily for me. Everything is supposed to “bend under my will,” and those things that will not bend will be met with “brute force.”

The hardest lesson I’ve learned is that acceptance is not “giving up,” it is surrendering to a Power, a Force greater than your conscience self.

A lot of us are conditioned to fight and never give up. There’re even state mottos on this:

Massachusetts – “By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty.”

New Hampshire – “Live Free or Die”

Mississippi – “By Valor and Arms”

In truth not only is it in our own best interest at times that we surrender to Spirit or our own Higher Self, sometimes the decision to do so is taken out of our hands, as illustrated in the Eight of Swords:

The hardest thing is to be put in a situation of a known fear and dangerous, and be told, sometimes “forced” to stay put and do nothing and “trust all will be well.”

In “Ground Hog Day,” the main character, Phil Conner, is forced to play out the same scenario over and over again until “he gets the lesson accessible to him.”

How many times do we find ourselves in the same situation of discomfort over and over again like our friend Phil? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could come out of the “why me?” rant and perhaps turn it into the “why me!!! What do I need to learn here? What am I holding onto that it’s time to let go of?

So many times we get stuck in a rut that slowly and surely whittles away at our soul.

We all know the story of the man who night after night went down the same darken street, and night after night fell into the same open manhole. External Spirit and internal Higher Spirit will put up a barricade and “invites” us to examine the other roads we have yet to discover.

By opening up our minds and releasing the “victim paradigm” we can regain a measure of control in our lives. When we open up our minds to the lesson(s) to be learned we can move forward empowered with additional tools we can use on future journeys.

And So It IS!!!

  2. Good point. Acceptance should be "Okay, that's the situation. Now what do I DO about it?"

    1. Surrender...still working on what that looks like...Hopefully I'll have an answer in 23 when S is up. :)

    2. Actually, it's about stilling the mind and especially the emotions that get in the way of really seeing what the situation is. Not with our two eyes, but using our third eye our intuition, our higher selves to really get what's going on. Because until we are able to do so...we will find ourselves stuck in the endless cycle of "the ground hog" until we do.

This is not easy, and I have found that once you take the path of the magikal one...it is a challenge you have to meet to claim your knowledge, wisdom, power of the witch/shaman/priest/priestess.

      Hope that helps a bit.

  3. Oh how I know what you mean! I am still learning to accept that when life throws me curve balls, there is a divine purpose in it. It is best to accept it, and have faith that it is all going to be good in the end, and learn from the experience, BUT that's easier said than done sometimes LOL Great post :)

  4. Thank you. It's amazing how many clients I have that come to me with their entire life "thrown for a curve ball." I believe that the world is experiencing "The Tower and The Death Card" and we are feeling the vibrations of it. I also believe that deep down our souls have been crying for change and our Higher Self is answering the call. Safe journey and great knowledge on your path.
